If you’re a charcoal fanatic, we’ve got a much better way to light your grill than using lighter fluid – the Charcoal Chimney.
We suggest instead using the all natural method:
- All Natural Charcoal:
pure lump charcoal with no nasty additives (stay away from the perfectly shaped briquettes that contain petrochemicals for quick lighting)
- Natural Fire Starters
made of pure wax and wood chips, looks like a little cupcake with a wick
- Super Cedar Fire Starters

- Charcoal Chimney
it looks like a very large beer stein with a small grill recessed at the bottom. Place lump charcoal inside chimney. Light fire starter and place on the charcoal grate of your barbecue. Place chimney on top of fire starter (the recessed area allow lots of room for the fire starter). In approximately 10 – 15 minutes (same amount of time that it takes to pre-heat a gas grill), the charcoal will be white hot. The natural air currents cause the fire and heat from the fire starter to travel upward, catching the encased charcoal in a controlled and quick fashion.You can grab the handle of the chimney, and carefully pour the hot embers onto the charcoal grill.
